The flexible Convention Center space includes the Convention Hall with adjacent pre-function area at the base of The Egg, seven meeting rooms, galleries and a quarter-mile long concourse. Enjoy the panoramic view of Albany’s skyline, the Hudson River, and spectacular mountains all from the 42nd floor of the Corning Tower in the glass-enclosed Observation Deck. Plan your wedding or unique reception for the Plaza level at the base of the Corning Tower, and let your guests stroll outdoors among the fountains, unique sculptures and brick walkways of the Plaza. Choose from two creative and experienced in-house caterers for a simple coffee service to full-course banquet.
Located in the heart of the City of Albany, the Convention Center is ideally situated to enjoy the unique amenities of the government seat of the State of New York. Visitors enjoy guided tours of the Plaza and its Memorials, the Capitol Building, Governor’s Mansion and priceless Plaza Art Collection. The At the Plaza summer series presents an outstanding variety of concerts and festivals free to the public. The New York State Museum and Archives presents exhibits and public programming designed to educate and entertain.
The visual arts are an important part of Albany’s arts scene, with numerous galleries just a short walk away. First-class theaters present Broadway tours, ballet and improvisational dance. The Pepsi Arena seats 20,000 for exciting ice hockey, basketball and other sports matches, as well as big-name rock, country, pop and classical music performances. Families will enjoy planetariums and hands-on museums scaled just for children. History enthusiasts won’t want to miss a tour of the USS Slater, the restored WWII destroyer escort located at the Port of Albany on the Hudson River, and historic 18th century mansions and cathedrals. In the evening, relax at hot downtown eateries and night spots. Within a short distance, experience the charm of Vermont, the rustic Adirondack Mountains and lakes, and the culture of the Hudson Valley.
