Security and Emergency Management Unit
Protecting our employees, those of tenant agencies, visitors to our facilities and the buildings we own and operate is a primary goal of OGS. To achieve this personal and facility protection goal, the Security and Emergency Management Unit plays a key role in the installation and management of security projects with other stakeholders. Additionally, the unit manages the agency's emergency management program that includes business continuity planning and other hazard-specific planning such as the preparation and maintenance of a pandemic influenza plan.

Stakeholders in our security and emergency management efforts include the Executive Office, Division of Construction Services, building managers, the Division of State Police, the State Office of Fire Protection and Control, and tenant agencies. Depending on the scope of an incident, the State Emergency Management Office and the County Emergency Offices, where we own and operate buildings, might be called in for support.

For the continued operation of the installed security systems, the unit manages the Security ID Card Program in conjunction with Security ID Card Representatives at participating state agencies.
