Executive Order 18: Restricting the Use of Bottled Water  

Executive Order No. 18 was issued in 2009 to improve the environment and save taxpayer dollars by eliminating New York State's purchase and use of bottle water in state agency facilities and promoting the use of tap water as a preferred alternative. All executive agencies were required to develop and implement compliance plans and report annually on their progress in accomplishing the Governor's objectives under the order.
